STAG Provisions for Men, the Austin based apparel and lifestyle boutique, brings its uniquely curated style to Los Angeles. The newly opened STAG boutique is the second in a series of planned store launches from the Austin based company.
STAG brings a unique and inviting retail space to its newly minted Abbot Kinney location, that features a precisely edited yet eclectic blend of apparel, accessories, grooming essentials, home goods, unique gifts and one-of-a-kind vintage finds. A varied offering from up-and-coming brands as well as established designers are mixed among small-batch goods from local craftsmen, and contemporary art is presented among vintage furniture — all culminating in an inspirational yet approachable shopping experience for the modern gentleman.
Known for its distinct offerings of casual-modern brands such as Alex Mill, Burkman Bros, and Faherty Brand as well as top-tiered brands including Ralph Lauren RRL, Moscot, and Il Bussetto. Handcrafted American brands like Tanner Goods, Billykirk and The Hill-Side help pay homage to STAG’s rugged American individualism while hard-to-find offerings from Made Solid, Barque Apparel, and locally made Weiss watches establish the shop as a destination for the style conscious man.
Co-founders Steve Shuck and Don Weir draw on their retail and design expertise to cultivate STAG’s ever changing but always well-defined product offering.
“Los Angeles is such an amazing and inspiring town, the perfect blend of modern and historic,” said Shuck. “We think it’s the right place for our mix of classic, contemporary goods and vintage, one-of-a-kind finds. Like L.A., we hope STAG is a place of discovery for our friends and neighbors.”
The 3500-square-foot store, located in Venice, California, is an inviting, artfully designed space that also includes a 450-square-foot loft designated for special events and collaborations.
Featuring an eclectic mix of furniture and artwork—from mid-century display tables and distressed vintage leather sofas to photography and paintings by artists from Los Angeles and Austin—STAG’s offerings blend seamlessly to create its unique identity.
“We think STAG will be right at home on Abbot Kinney,” says Weir. “We’ve been visiting Venice for years and discovered long ago that Abbot Kinney has a unique, laid-back sensibility that we really identify with. And because we felt like the STAG concept could transfer to markets with a similar feel and customer to Austin, we thought Venice was the perfect place to open our second shop. Our goal with the shop is to create an environment that feels like it’s always been a part of the landscape — a comfortable, inviting place that features local elements while pulling in aspects of Austin as well. Whether it’s local art or leather goods or locally made furniture, we make it a point to embrace our surroundings while also offering a carefully edited selection of apparel, accessories, gifts and apothecary products. We’re excited to see how the concept evolves.”
In addition to the Abbot Kinney and Austin locations, STAG plans to open a third retail location in Dallas, Texas, this November 2014.
