Fashion designer Zac Posen and Charles James exhibition co-curator Jan Glier Reeder discuss James’s glamour, technique, and enduring impact on fashion and on his influence on Posen and his work.
From elements in Posen’s first collection to gowns he designed for this year’s Met Gala, James has often been an inspiration for the designers work. Posen will opine on James’s draping, cut, and ubiquitous rule breaking.
The program will be held in conjunction with The Costume Institute exhibition Charles James: Beyond Fashion, which is on view at the Met through August 10, 2014.
The event will be this Sunday, June 22, 3:00–4:30 p.m. The Metropolitan Museum of Art Fifth Avenue at 82nd Street The Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium This event is free with museum admission. www.metmuseum.org
