Met Gala – Charles James: Beyond Fashion

When Charles James: Beyond Fashion was announced, as this years theme for The Costume Institutes Met Gala I was beside myself with joy. Women in opulent gowns and gentlemen in white tie I mean what could go wrong? Well sigh a lot. It appeared that many only saw the word costume on the invitation and took it literally bypassing the stunning image that accompanied the invitation that so clearly mandated how one should look. Tell me what girl doesn’t want to look like a princess going to the ball? I know I do. Well thankfully it wasn’t all bad as a few got it right. Here’s a look at my hits and mistakes from the evening.
