The 2013 MTV VMA red carpet was nothing short of a really bad nightmare. Yes, it was cool that the carpet careened its way through a neighborhood in Brooklyn; congrats. But seriously?! Were we being PUNK’D or did the fashion elite finally wise up and decide to boycott the event? Were stylists hired or was it just a free for all? Thank god the Emmy’s are just around the corner. Let’s pray for a better display of fashion? Here’s a look at my top ten Hits & Misses from the evening.

Rita Ora’a Alexandre Vauthier Couture gown was a big risk that I think paid off. I just hope she had another option to change into. That’s a lot of gown to navigate through an evening.

Taylor Swift once again was stunning on the red carpet. Hats off to her team for always keeping the young beauty looking glamourous.

Selena Gomez looked sexy and even thought her gown was little mature for the young beauty I think she pulled it off.

Joan Smalls is one supermodel that always gets it right selecting a look that was very VMA appropriate, young and fun.

Ciara was breathtakingly stunning. Brava very nicely done.

Sadly our second Alexandre Vauthier gown was not as successful. Erin Wasson looked like she was caught up in a modern day Norma Desmond nightmare.

All that glitters sadly isn’t always gold as your dress probably shouldn’t mirror your hair and skin tones.

Seriously repeat after me…you are not Madonna!!!

Miley Cyrus the evening started out bad on the red carpet and just got worse on stage oye!!!

It just is what it is. Thankfully the girl can sing.
Taylor Swift, elegant as always!
