handmade. painted. decayed – The Bea Project

The Bea Project

LA based artist Katrina Bea presents The Bea Project a fine art and fashion mixed-media art house concept at Space 15 Twenty in Hollywood.

The Bea Project

“The exhibition, arrives from the desire to dismantle perceptions by deconstructing fashion, idolizing the grotesque and bringing chaos into otherwise controlled environments..” (Katrina Bea) It was provocative in its use of oil mixed media on paper and deconstructed fine art apparel.

The Bea Project

Her paintings, in-depth and detailed, possess a strong sense of  the masculine and feminine.

The Bea Project

Each piece from her deconstructed DA.TURA METAL, fine art apparel line is handmade, dyed, painted and sewn from reclaimed and vintage bolts of  fabric. “I like to make clothing, but I don’t really love fashion.”

Each garment in the collection is one of a kind, aside from a few of the screen print t-dresses.

Artist - Katrina Bea and artist husband Jeremy Kenyon Lockyer Corbell

The exhibition runs thru – July 24th at Space 15 Twenty 1520 N. Cahuenga Ave Hollywood, CA 90028 www.thebeaproject.com
