“To Tommy, From Zooey,” the new capsule collection of dresses and accessories designed by actress, musician and style icon Zooey Deschanel and iconic American designer Tommy Hilfiger is a fun retro throw back to the 60’s that features shortened hem lines first made famous by models Twiggy and Jean Shrimpton.
Together, Deschanel and Hilfiger have created a spirited collection in a signature Tommy palette of red, white and blue. “To Tommy, From Zooey,” captures the buoyant attitude of the sixties, the decade in which Hilfiger made his fashion debut and from which Deschanel borrows her doe-eyed look.

“Working with Tommy on this capsule collection has been really amazing,” said Zooey Deschanel. “I am a fashion fanatic and I am always looking for new ways to incorporate vintage, feminine pieces into my own wardrobe. Tommy and I share many of the same inspirations—old school music, classic films and old Hollywood icons—and his guidance during the design process helped to put a really unique twist on each piece.”
The flattering silhouettes range from classic coat and shirtdresses to specialty peek-a-boo styles, with prints hidden inside the pleats. Crisp, mod-shapes are combined with nautical touches—creating a look Deschanel calls “Modical.”

“Each piece is original and fun,” said Tommy Hilfiger, who first met the actress through friends in Los Angeles. “The collection is the perfect fusion of Zooey’s adventurous style and the classic, cool, American spirit at the heart of the Tommy Hilfiger brand.”
The dresses will be priced between $98 and $199, and 14 of the 16 are currently available at 200 Macy’s stores and Macys.com. On April 21, the entire collection is set to reach www.tommy.com and Tommy Hilfiger anchor and specialty stores in North America, Europe and Japan. Select Tommy Hilfiger stores will also carry Deschanel-designed jewelry and handbags.
