Saks Fifth Avenue announces the exclusive launch of Carven’s newest scent, Carven Le Parfum, a women’s fragrance infused with the timeless elegance signature to the house of Carven under the close and Kind eye of designer Guillaume Henry, the scent was created by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian.

“I wanted to play with the Carven values in a feminine mode: timeless elegance that also seems absolutely effortless. I wanted a fragrance that would resemble a huge bouquet of freshly cut flowers, with temperament and a lingering sillage,” said Francis Kurkdjian, the perfumer. “The Carven woman has an intuitive sense for what’s chic: she’s Parisian, sparkling, bold and impertinent; she leaves no one indifferent. She’s beautiful without even thinking about it.”

Carven Le Parfum, for Francis Kurkdjian, embodies the concept of a sillage, the term used to describe a scented trail left by the fragrance wearer. Carven Le Parfum’s sillage combines several paradoxes, a fresh and ethereal fragrance that is, at the same time, ultrafeminine. A fragrance as structured as Guillaume Henry’s line of clothes, it is composed of superb raw materials like ylang ylang and jasmine that are floral, noble and natural. A fragrance in the spirit of Guillaume Henry’s fashions—just a little sassy—it opens with the spontaneity of Mandarin blossom, in counterpoint with the delicacy of white hyacinth. The heart is a somewhat impertinent floral bouquet composed with devilish cunning, built around sweet pea, jasmine and ylang ylang. The sensuous bottom notes are precious and woody: white sandalwood, osmanthus and Indonesian patchouli. Carven Le Parfum is a fragrance that will leave its mark in the family of the great florals. It is an ethereal and feminine Eau de Parfum with the subtle signature of sweet pea. Thierry de Baschmakoff designed the perfect bottle to illustrate this harmony in contrasts.
