The first lady of fashion and style Diana Vreeland, yesterday became the 19th inductee into the Rodeo Drive “Walk of Style”. Known as one of the most influential women of the 20th century, as fashion editor at Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue, Vreeland had a way of pushing fashion and its subjects to the limit. Remembered for comments like “The bikini is the most important invention since the atom bomb.”, Vreeland had a way of weaving fashion, art and music together. She believed that “You’re not supposed to give people what they want, you’re supposed to give them what they don’t yet know they want.
The documentary “Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has To Travel” was written and directed by Vreelands’ granddaughter-in-law, Lisa Immordino Vreeland. The movie will have its theatrical release on September 21st.
