Jeremy Kenyon Lockyer Corbell is an accidental Artist who trained Jiu-Jitsu for the majority of his life, teaching and doing seminars around the world. While traveling in Nepal, Jeremy acquired a near-fatal respiratory disease that changed his life. No longer able to train as a martial artist, Jeremy found strength in painting vintage doors salvaged from local demolitions around his childhood home. Little did he know at the time, that his new found discovery of art would change his life forever.
I met Jeremy for lunch, at Fred Segal, Santa Monica where he explained his journey through life, his new found love of art, his ICON Apparel brand, and his mixed-media series that celebrates the life and style of actress Sharon Tate, as we mark the 41st anniversary of her tragic passing.
With the blessing of the Tate family, ICON showcases Sharon’s never before revealed wardrobe by designer’s Christian Dior, Thea Porter, Ossie Clark and Yves Saint Laurent. In his own words “The ICON exhibition, with images currently on display at Fred Segal, Santa Monica was created to help facilitate understanding of the healing power of art to transform and create culture.”
